Your comments are bang on. Souray has always played with a lot of heart and was a powerplay specialist in the past. He has always been a team leader. The problem is he has called management out and with Edmonton being a young team, they really do not need the distraction of Souray in the line up. You are correct Souray's market value makes him hard to move with his present contract. Tambellini needs to think outside the box and move Souray to a team that is in the same situation. To Montreal for Hamrlik, to Toronto for Kaberle or Jeff Finger. I would love Edmonton to get the Finger.

Hahaha... so I must be moron. Does that mean I qualify to be the next Oilers GM?

Seriously though, it doesn't take a genius to come up with that title I'm pretty sure I've seen both Brownlee and Tencer use it.

The Comrie signing changes things a little. I expect this is the end for Robbie Schremp with the Oilers, he'll be placed on waivers and most likely picked up by the Islanders.

"i’m still hoping Gilbert will get moved for a forward who can score and hit, center of left wing"

I'm hoping it's Souray instead. LA........... Dustin Brown.

@Bmoney

There's now way Strudwick or Staois will get waived, with all the injuries most teams have on defense these depth guys are needed.

As well, I hope that Gilbert is not moved as he has a good long term contract.. If a D man is moved to get a scoring forward I would hope its Souray.

All of the suggested lines so far really emphasizes the holes on the team at 1st line LW and 3rd line center.

The only real positive on the team is the depth at D.

I actually see things fairly similiar for the forwards with a slight difference in regards to centerman and the fourth line as well...

I would like to see them spread the scoring out a little bit and I can see them doing something like this... and Yes Horcoff is not on the top center spot in my list.

1st suggestion

Hemsky Osullivan Cogliano
Nilsson Gagner Penner
Shremp Horcoff Pisani
Moreau Brule/Pouliot Jaques/Stortini

Or
Hemsky Gagner Penner
NIlsson Horcoff Osullivan
Pisani Brule Cogliano
Moreau Pouliot Shremp/jaques

I agree that we wont see Big Mac around this year but I also think were going to see limited stortini time as well, no sense having stortini take upa roster spot when we could have someoen like jaques in their hitting and fighting and can still put the puck in the net, but for this to happen it means we need to toughen up the defense.

Visnovsky Grebeshkov
Souray Gilbert
Smid Peckham
Strudwick/Staois one of them could be waived but i'm still hoping Gilbert will get moved for a forward who can score and hit, center of left wing

I agree. Expect most of the young guys and vets to have a much better season under Quinn and Renney's guidance.
