MacT Throws the Game Away
The Anaheim Mighty Ducks beat the Edmonton Oilers tonight in NHL play and pushes the Oilers even further from that elusive playoff spot. The real story for me in this game is how the Oilers were able to mount a comeback late in the game when they were down by a score of 4-1. Goals from Denis Grebeshkov and Zack Stortini put the Oilers within one with 2 minutes left in the game…. so at this point I’m at the edge of my seat ready the mad scramble of 6 on 5 play. But… wtf…. Craig Mactavish makes a dumb ass move by calling for a measurement of Teemu Selanne’s stick. Well the stick was legal and the Oilers finished the game short handed and lost. I mean come on man… this point in the season a lose against the Ducks pretty much kills the Oilers chance of making the playoffs, let the players decide their fate instead of being a dick. The last time I seen somebody make a boneheaded move like that with such high consequences was Ty Conklin giving the puck away in game 1 of the Cup finals in 06 and he never played for the Oilers again.
I would fire MacT right now if I were Kevin Lowe or Steve Tambellini and I would kick his ass if I were a player.
By far the absolute dumbest coaching move I have ever witnessed in my entire life…
I guarantee this will cost us a playoff spot and cost Craig his job…. never to be seen in a hockey role again.

The great thing of not making the playoffs, if any, is MacT gets canned. I cannot wait for the day. With a new offensive minded coach we will finally see what we have. If the players shit to bed again next year then Lowe has some explaining to do.
Tavares anyone?
Whatever dude. MacT is a great coach, all of the players say so and he consistently pushes a bad team to over achieve. If anyone should be fired its the GM who thought getting O’Sullivan and Kotalik could help this team.
@FlamesRule
Yea, the O’Sullivan and Kotalik was the worst move in Oilers history.
Hey man, Oilers are out and Calgary’s in. MacT did as much as could be expected with that group of losers. Kotalik will walk in the off season and O’Sullivan is just another weak small forward.
