I usually avoid this rumor stuff because the good ones rarely come to fruition, weather someone is just making them up or they actually come close to reality but fall apart we may never know.  Nevertheless I find myself becoming addicted to reading this crap, and thats what it is, total crap (E5). With that being said you know my opinion of what you are about to read.

Edmonton Oilers are negotiating with UFA forward Jason Williams.  Williams is not the star forward that Kevin Lowe has been after but is a really solid depth player who has 158 points in 296 NHL games. The really interesting thing here is that Edmonton isn’t really in need of a 3rd line player unless there is a trade in the works. hmmmm.

I have also heard that the Oilers have made inquiries to Teemu Selanne who is considering retirement. It is widely believed that if Selanne does not retire he will return to the Ducks, but I would love to see the face on Brian Burke if he did sign with Edmonton.

There are also rumblings of a possible trade of Sheldon Souray to the Ottawa Senators but I expect these are as far from reality as the Redden to Edmonton rumors over the last couple of seasons.

Martin Havlat?…. Well thats the word. Whatever.
